Little Saint Elizabeth and Other Stories is a collection of short works by Frances Hodgson Burnett, the author of famous children's works such as Little Lord Fauntleroy, The Secret Garden, and The Little Princess.
Published in 1893, this book contains four works: Little Saint Elizabeth; The Story of Prince Fairyfoot parts 1, 2 and 3;The Proud Little Grain of Wheat; and Behind the White Brick.

This antique book is in good condition. The boards are a light grey, with the title in gilt embossed lettering on the front and the spine. The front has an embossed illustration of a group of villagers and a Nun, which has been coloured with blue and yellow. On the spine of the book is a further embossed image of some rooftops poking out above some trees.
On the inside the inscription "Phyllis M. Smith from her loving Daddy" has been written in black ink on the first page. The title page, which includes the publication date of 1893, includes a piece of tissue paper that protects an illustration of a young Saint Elizabeth at prayer on the opposite page.
There is a list of illustrations and page numbers in the book, and all illustration pages are present and secured to the spine.
The spine of the book is in good condition, with some cracks in places, in particular between pages 80 and 81, and 144 and 145. There is some foxing on the text block and on the final two pages of the book, but other than this the pages are relatively clean and free from smudges or pencil marks.
Overall this book is in good condition for its age, and with a bit of care should last for many more years.
