Title: Birds and Beasts in English Literature Author: Cecily Boas Publisher: Thomas Nelson and Sons Publication Year: 1926 Pages: 240 Size: 11 cm x 16.2 cm
This book is in excellent condition. It has dark blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine and front cover. There is a small amount of wear on the top corners of the spine. The top of the text block is lightly gilted.
The spine is in good condition with no sign of cracking, the binding is tight and all pages are present. There are no foxing or pencil marks, and no folded or damaged corners.
When I acquired this book I found a small envelope addressed to “Miss Madell” with a little card inside that reads “Miss Eileen G Thompson. With best wishes and many thanks”. I’m not sure which person this book used to belong to, but it means you have a little piece of someone’s history tucked between the pages.
Overall this is a gorgeous little vintage book for any fan of poetry or fiction, and if they like animals too then that’s a bonus!
