Title: Foreign Classics for English Readers: Rabelais. Author: Walter Besant, M.A (edited by Miss Oliphant) Publisher: William Blackwood and Sons Publication Year: MDCCCLXXIX (1879) Pages: 194. Size: 11.9 cm x 17.8 cm.
This book is in good condition. It has dark green cloth boards with embossed lettering and embellishment on the front cover. There is also gilt lettering on the spine which reads “Rabelais”. The top and bottom of the spine are a little born from use and the corners of the boards are scuffed.
There is foxing on the front and back pages but the rest of the book is clean. There is a little bit of cracking between the back board and last page, but all the pages of the book are secure and present.
Overall the wear and tear is cosmetic and with a bit of careful use this book should last for many more years.
