Originally sent to W. Burton Esq. of 3 College Place, Brighton, this vintage postcard dates from 1905. The front features a colour image of the ruins of St Mary's Abbey in York.

The back of the postcard has a joke message that reads:

"You monkey. This is where you will be buried one day if you're good (???) Yours till death, anxious correspondent".

The back has a green half-penny postage stamp and a postmark for August 1905.
