King Richard II was the son of England's famous soldier, Edward the Black Prince.

Richard came to the throne as a young boy, due to his father's early death. Ultimately, like many other young Kings, he wasn't very successful. His cousin Henry rebelled against him and seized the throne, leaving Richard to die (probably from starvation) at Pontefract Castle.
