Cathedral is a mountain that straddles the border of the USA (Washington state) and Canada (British Columbia). The picture on this postcard shows the peak of the mountain looming over pine trees in the foreground and what may be a river in the middle.

The back of the postcard is a pencilled message dated 24 May 1926, which reads:

"24.5.26 We shall be with Oliver tomorrow, we finish our journey by [illegible] after four nights on this train. We are 4,500 ft up here and the mountains seem to reach the sky - it is wonderful! Love to all May".

The card is addressed to Mrs Capell at 119 Colwyn Road, Northampton.

The two postage stamps are both Canadian, indicating that the sender was on the northern side of the border.
