Florence rooftops

A vintage postcard showing the cityscape of Florence in Italy. The dome of the city's cathedral is left of centre, and the hills in the background on the right.

The back of the postcard is addressed to "Mr & Mrs JE Capell" at the The Chalet in Kingsdown, Deal. There is a postmark that has "16.V.1925" for 16 May 1925, and the bottom of the postcard is dated 14.V.25 (14 May 1925) written by the sender.

The message on the back, written in black ink, reads:

"We came here from Naples yesterday, simply love it. It is so clean and fresh after southern Italy. The weather has changed for the better now and is simply perfect - it has been very wet. In ten days we shall be home - Love to you both, [Gordon?] and Josephine."

On the top right is a red-ish 60 cent Italian stamp depicting Victor Emmanuel III.
