This vintage postcard doesn't have a specific date written on it, but the stamp is a "Silver Jubilee" one for King George V, which was released in 1935, and the number "35" can be seen on the franking mark.

Written on the back in pencil is a message that reads:

"Thursday - This morning mother and I went to Sandringham. We saw the King's car but were not close enough to see the King. I expect to come home tomorrow Friday by the train you did. Mother is not coming home yet. Love, Ella"

Up the middle of the postcard is an additional note that reads; "don't bother to meet me".

The card is addressed to Miss Nicholls at 107 Broughton Road, Thornton Heath.
