Adeliza of Louvain

Adeliza was the second wife of King Henry I of England. Henry's only had one legitimate son (who died leaving him without a proper heir to the throne, although it's believe Henry was already planning to marry Adeliza before his son's death). By marrying Adeliza he may have hoped to father a son to inherit the throne after him, but in their fourteen years of marriage they had no children.

After her husband's death Adeliza married the Earl of Arundel and had seven children. She died aged 48.
