Anne of Austria, a Habsburg by birth, was Queen of France as the wife of King Louis XIII, and mother of and Regent for King Louis XIV. Her enmity against Cardinal Richelieu led to her being one of the central figures in Dumas' "Three Musketeers" and subsequent novels.
