Simon de Montfort was the 6th Earl of Leicester, and friend and brother-in-law of King Henry III of England. However that friendship soured over the years, and de Montfort eventually led the Second Baron's War against Henry and his son Prince Edward.

At first de Montfort was successful, but eventually luck turned against him, and he was defeated and killed at the Battle of Evesham.
