Diomedes fought in the Trojan War. He was considered to be one of the best warriors on the Greek side (although not quite as good as Achilles, because no one was as good as Achilles). After the Trojan War he tried to return to his native Argos, but was prevented from entering the city. He took refuge in Italy, where he was believed to have founded several cities.
