William Marshal

William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke, was one of the biggest celebrities of his time. As a younger son he wasn't expecting to inherit much, so he went out in to the world, became famous in tournaments, made a huge amount of money and served multiple Kings of England (Henry II, Henry the Young King, Richard I, King John and Henry III). He eventually died at the incredible (for the time) age of 72, leaving behind a reputation as one of the finest knights of the Middle Ages.
