SALE- Law Stands Mute

This lovely lilac postcard has the latin phrase "Silent enim leges inter arma", and the English translation "War stands mute in the midst of arms" in white text. This quote is from the famous Roman lawyer, Cicero.

When a country is at war it means that the law often gets put to one side, or bent to fit the needs of those who want war. In some countries in recent years this has proved to still hold true.
