Isabella of France

Isabella of France came to England as the wife of King Edward II. She was neglected by her husband, who had several notable favourites, but still had several children with him. After years of putting up with her husband's ill treatment she used an opportunity to negotiate with France to return to her brother's court and took her son Edward with her. When she returned she was in an openly adulterous relationship with Roger Mortimer, with whom she shared Royal power.
