Margaret Beaufort

Margaret Beaufort was a descendant of John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford. She married Edmund Tudor at a young age and gave birth to his son, Henry Tudor. Through Margaret's help Henry became King Henry VII of England, and rewarded his mother with power and wealth. In the end she outlived her son by two months, dying in 1509.
