Virgil was a Roman writer, the author of "The Georgics" and "The Aeneid". The Aeneid took years for him to compose, it was the Roman equivalent of The Odyssey. It was one of the ancient world's most well-known pieces of literature and is still studied as part of Classics exams (personally I find it easier to read than the Iliad).
