Dating from 1936, this vintage postcard shows a black and white photo of the end of Fish Strand Hill in Falmouth, Devon. Several figures can be seen in the distance on the quay. If you look on Google Streetview you can see that the last building on the right appears to still be there!
On the back in pencil is a handwritten message that reads:
"Dear Rose, Many thanks for the letter, I wish I had been at the meeting - it must have been fun. We are having a marvellous heatwave altho (sic) it is very choppy today. Rather a high wind & too rough to bathe so we hope to go for a steamer trip. Will see you as soon as I return love Muriel."
The postcard is addressed to Miss R. Layton (presumably Rose Layton) at 31 Burwash Road, Plumstead. It also features a red King George V one penny stamp, and a postmark that clearly shows the date 26th August 1936.
